The headline act

The Big Five, quietly extraordinary.

Lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The term was coined by those who once tracked them on foot. Today the only thing we take away is the photograph, and the memory of seeing them in the wild.

Good to know

Safari questions, answered.

What is the best destination for a first-time luxury safari?

Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa are often excellent for first-time safari travellers. The right choice depends on your dates, preferred lodge style, travel pace and whether you want to combine safari with beach, city or wine country.

When is the best time to go on safari?

It depends on the region. East Africa is especially strong from June to October, South Africa is excellent from May to September, Botswana is at its peak during the dry season, and Rwanda's dry seasons are popular for gorilla trekking.

Can Atlas&Co. plan safari and beach holidays?

Yes. Many safari itineraries pair beautifully with a coastal stay, such as Tanzania with Zanzibar, Kenya with the Seychelles, South Africa with Mauritius or Botswana with Mozambique.

Are luxury safaris suitable for families?

Yes, when planned carefully. We recommend lodges with excellent guides, family-friendly rooms, age-appropriate activities, easy logistics and enough downtime between game drives.

What is the difference between a national park and a private conservancy?

National parks can offer iconic landscapes and wildlife density, while private conservancies often allow quieter sightings, fewer vehicles, off-road driving in some areas and a more intimate guiding experience.

Can you arrange honeymoon safaris?

Yes. Safari can be exceptional for honeymoons, especially when paired with private lodges, romantic camps, beach extensions, special dining experiences and slower routing.

What kind of lodges do you recommend?

We focus on luxury, boutique and conservation-minded lodges with strong guiding, beautiful design and a true sense of place. We avoid generic recommendations unless they genuinely suit the traveller and journey.

How does the enquiry process work?

You submit an enquiry with your dates, preferences and travel style. We then shape a bespoke safari proposal around the right destinations, lodges, routing and details before refining the itinerary with you.
